A 29-years old man who identified himself as Okoro Samuel was arrested by the police on February 7, 2019 for serving customer vulture meatat Onueke market, in Ezza south local government of Ebonyi state.

Simon was known for selling chicken in Onueke, but on Thursday, a man went to buy chicken from him and after garnishing the meat with the required ingredients, he served it to the man who ate a little portion and raised alarm that he was given a vulture instead of chicken.

This brought the attention of people around who rushed to the scene and after the man narrated what happened, they started beating Samuel who confessed that he had some live vultures at the back of his shop waiting to be prepared for sale.

On discovering the vultures, Simon Okoro was beaten mercilessly and his shop scattered before he was handed over the police.

He further said that he was not the only person engaging in such business in Ebonyi State even in Onueke but he refused to mention the names of his colleagues, while the police arrested and took him to the station for further investigation and prosecution.

Reformist news magazine Correspondent’s effort to get Ebonyi State Police Command to react or supply detailed information on the development proved abortive as the Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Loveth Odah when contacted said she was yet to get a signal from Onueke Police Division on the matter.
