Over 20 Army personnel invades Abia NUJ, beat Up Journalist

The Nigeria Army yesterday invaded the Secretariat of Nigerian Union Of Journalists, Umuahia Abia state, beat up a journalist, Cork and pointed their guns at the armed-less journalist and  smash iPad and phones.

Speaking an eye witness comrade Chidi Asonye a correspondent with Authority newspapers, said what happened is better watched in a home movie

Giving an account to what happened, he said about 20 army trucks, hilux vehicles and armoured cars were on patrol, on getting to  the tower roundabout opposite the NUJ Secretariat office, an army officer in one of the truck shouted that he noticed that somebody in the building was taking shots of them, he said over fifty of them surrendered the NUJ office while almost twenty of them claimed up to NUJ office harassed and  beat up the National Trustee zone C official of NUJ comrade Bonny Okoro.

“Immediately, they got  to our office and surrendered up the journalists, they bounce on our national officer, Comrade Bonny Okoro  accused him off taking them picture and before he could defend himself, they beat him up and  smashed his IPad, I also saw one of the army men who smashed the wind screen of vehicle belonging to Peace Mass Transit and the photo of a passenger.
