According to him, the 23 year old Chibuike Onuoha was in a Camry car with friends while returning from watching the match when the headlamps of a parked vehicle completely overshadowed their view which made him the victim walk up to the driver to ask him to dim his lights to enable their own vehicle cross the culvert on that road.
He said Onuoha on getting to the car identified the driver as a police officer who resides in the same Afaraukwu as a tenant and whom he participated actively in his wedding which took place less than three months
In his words “immediately Onuoha request the police officer to dim his light, the sergeant allegedly pulled his gun and shot at his arms, Onuoha fell down and made attempt to run when the killer cop came closer and than shot him on the chest which led to his instant death
“On seeing this, the police officer ran away, abandoning the police van, the youths of the community out of anger burn down the vehicle”. Irokansi stated.
Also recounting another experience with the said cop, the community youth vice-chairman, Ifeanyi Uwalaka, said “last week Tuesday, the same police officer had pursued a man into his family shop at the area, threatening to shoot the man dead before i intervened.
“The deceased is my cousin, a talented footballer who just got admission into Michael Okpara University of Agriculture and with other young men in the community contributed immensely to the success of the officers wedding”.
