25 years Old Boy Kills Keke Rider

The Abia police command has paraded a 25 years old boy, Chinonso Ibekwe who was allegedly murdered  a 67 years old keke rider, Peter Eseonu with the aim of stealing his keke

Reformist reporter gathered that some times in June, Ibekwe chartered the keke driver, took him to a lonely farm with the pretext that he wanted to carry the harvested corn his mother left behind. On getting to the farm, from the back sit, he used a rod to hit the keke rider, strangulated him with a rope before dumping his body in a ditch.

Unfortunately for Ibekwe, he was caught in the act by a young man who approached him as he was going away with the stolen keke, Ibekwe, to hide his crime attempted to bribe the man, who declined and after four days reported the crime to the police, before then the children of the deceased has placed an announcement in the state radio of their missing father.

The mortician at the mortuary the deceased was deposited in Umuahia, Udodirim while speaking with Reformist reporter said the  corpse of one Eseonu has been deposited, adding that in the cause of bringing out the dead man from the ditch, people around discovered other decomposing dead bodies, it was also gathered that Ibekwe at his young age had so many other keke that he gives out as hire, at this point people presumed that he might have killed others in similar circumstances, dumb their body at the same ditch and take away their keke.

The commissioner in Abia state, Adeleye  Oyebade while parading Chinonso Ibekwe said he allegedly strangulated  one late Peter Eseonu, a tricycle Operator to death.

He noted that Ibekwe had boarded the deceased tricycle on charter, claimed he was  going to pick some harvested farm products from his mother’s farm at Amuzukwu, a suburb near the  capital city.

It was learnt that an undisclosed man who was defecating in the bush who witnessed the incident later raised the alarm in the community.

He said Police operatives had swooped on the suspect, a 200 level Computer science student, while he gave the Police information that lead to the discovery of the decomposing body of the deceased.

The CP added that the body of the deceased has been deposited in an undisclosed morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the 25 year old Ibekwe has been charged to Court and remanded in Prison Custody.
