South East Gvos Sold Biafra for mess of Porridge
—IPOB not a terrorist group says European Union

Leadership in this context should primarily be described as the ability to control, manage and direct policies initiated by some group of individuals in any organized society. It could also mean the courage to withstand pressure coming from inside and external forces. Leadership could also be referred to as man’s brevity, audacity to stand firm and upright in discharging the responsibilities assigned to him by the electorates.
The governors of the southeast geographical zone have demonstrated their insensitivity, thoughtlessness in their hasty proscription of the activities of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, purposely to satisfy the Buhari’s led administration at the detriment of their brothers and sisters especially the Biafra agitators in the region.
In this context, freedom has too many questions, sometimes it creates happiness, sometimes full of envy and most times it surrounds with negative implications. Today, the enemies are capitalizing on the mistake or rather the ignorance of the southeast governors to push for the world leaders to change their mind and initial position that IPOB remains a peaceful organization all over the world.
But the campaign from the Nigeria’s information ministry seems not to have gained grounds as United Kingdom had in their reaction indicted Nigeria on the issue of radio Biafra. According them, Nigeria did not do what they ought to have done at the first instance; therefore UK will continue to respect the right to self-determination.
The European Union had earlier described the invasion of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’ home as an act of genocide against the people of Biafra, the international community however condemned the military action against armless people, saying self-determination is a right of people enshrined in the United Nation’s Charta and as such IPOB is not a terrorist organization.
Therefore, from the look of things, hasty decision of the governor of southeast simply exposed their ignorance in international politics and their inability to stand firm as Chief security officers in their states. It also proved that none of the governors of the southeast geopolitical zone has background in law, mass communication or history otherwise they should have known that the action of the president Mohamadu Buhari and military invasion of IPOB leader’s home amount to constitutional breach and it is liable for impeachment.
They are not looking at that aspect of the constitution rather what they are using as defense is that millions of people from the region will die but one will be forced to ask, is it not the responsibility of the governors in the region to urge federal government to withdraw the army from the zone hence there was no war or civil conflict in the region.
It could be that they are afraid of being killed or that their position as governors will be taken away from them through state of emergency. That also shows high level of inexperience in politics otherwise these people should have borrowed tactics from northern governors even the President Mohamadu Buhari who had refused to label Fulani Herdsmen terrorist even when they are terrorizing people killing and raping farmers with AK 47 riffle.
Why are they Chief security officers? If the governors believe that they do not have the capacity to make recommendations urging the federal government to withdraw military and stop killings of armless civilians in the zone then they should accept the responsibility of inviting the army to lay siege at Nnamdi Kanu’s home and killings that have be going on in the southeastern states of Nigeria.
Sources revealed that political class or rather parties that nominated those incumbent governors in the southeast as its candidates did not consider certain factors in politics most importantly in Nigeria context where ethnic rivalry is always the case.
The sources maintained that it could be that the present governors in the southeast region fall short of common intelligence, it seems they do not have any background in Law, Journalism, History and current affairs. But even at that they should have consulted the Attorney General in their various states.
The Senate President Bukora Saraki had earlier condemned the military invasion of the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s home and deployment of soldiers to the southeast, according to him, due process was not followed therefore the Buhari did not abide by the constitutional provision in using military action.
Despite the hasty decision of the south east governors that metamorphosed the proscription of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, after 24 hours, the president of the European Union Commission Mr Jean-Claude Junker in a swift reaction made a serious touching statement as well as warning the Nigeria security personnel against their ill- hear-ted and unprofessionalism in handling democratic issues and the right of people….
EU also stated that IPOB is not a terrorist organization because having functioned for several years without violence or shooting or killing of anybody in their operation or agitation for self-determination.
“It is the people’s right to agitate and make a request from their government, self-determination is a right enshrined in the United Nation Charta. The people of Biafra have every right to request for a referendum, they have been in this struggle for a while now, they have never killed or shot a bullet instead they are the victims of attacks and murder.
The entire EU hereby condemn the brutal attack on IPOB members and leadership under the pretentious disguise of military exercise (Operation) Python Dance) Nigeria military is warned to adopt democratic tenets in handling citizens.
The EU will not sit and watch things go undemocratic in the largest economy of the West Africa region”.
But on the contrary, the southeast governors are sitting down watching things go undemocratic in their region without making any effort to protect their people in times like this and cannot exonerate themselves from being an indigenous people from that area or territory called Biafra.
So, “Whether they know or do not know the wrong on all side they are casualties now ever than before”
With respect to the leaders of the region, time has come for them to critically re-examine themselves as not to subjugate the people they represent to perpetual slavery in their territory. Time has come for the leaders within the specific geographical enclave to understand the true nature of politics they play as to avoid being more Catholic than Pope instead they should look upon Nelson Mandela who fought to protect the interest and people of South Africans. That will make them good leaders instead of marketing Biafrans for mess of porridge.
