Senator Adighije Knocks IPOB For Attacking Ekweremadu

The former senator who represented Abia central in National Assemble and an APC chieftain in the state, senator Chris Adighije has described the assault on Senator Ike Ekweremadu by IPOB members in Germany as shameful and embarrassing not just for Ndigbo but the entire country

The former law maker stated this to our reporter in his Olokoro residence in Umuahia,noting that activities of IPOB has placed a question mark on the activities of the group, pointed that no ethnic group in the country would treat their prominent son like that especially outside the shores of the country reiterated that their action was a minus to their agitation.

He reiterated that if the group was aggrieved their is a more civilized way of solving issues and not taking the laws into their hands

“This is not the Biafra of our dream, this people have made themselves in responsible, if you watch the video what I saw is nothing shot of gangsterism, their action is ill advised and ill conceived and a minus for the movement

The senator disclosed that it is true that their is poverty and insecurity not just in south east but the country, Adighije said anybody has the right to complained or protest but to have attacked Ekweremadu the why they did and also tore his cloth was barbaric, unacceptable and very unlike Igbo man who are respecters of their elders and constituted authority.

He maintained that any Nigeria would be worried over the insecurity in the country and the south east pointed also that the killing of Rev. father Offu and father Rapuruchukwu was painful and sad adding that is a good news that their killers have been arrested while he called on the aggrieved to come home and help proffer solution to some of the country’s problems.

The senator commended president Buhari for the choice of Dr Uchechukwu Ogah as a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria adding that is an appointment well deserved.

He said Ogah was qualified for the position going by his credentials and also haven contested the last governorship election under the platform of APC reiterated that he is a party man loved by all.

The senator noted that the last minister from the state Okechukwu Enelamah was not a party man and Enelamah said it himself reiterated that even though he did well as a minister his presence was not felt in the party and in the state.

Adighije maintained that the governor of Abia state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has disappointed the people of the state by his poor performance and development “what I see in the faces of Abians are poverty, frustration and anger due to non payment of salaries, bad roads, lack of infrastructure and development.

The senator disclosed that if he had his way he would appeal to senator Mao Ohabunwa who is challenging Dr Orji Uzor Kalu victory as a National Assembly member representing Abia North and incidentally the chief whip for out of court settlement.

He noted that the chief Whip is the only principal position the south east is holding in the National Assembly and it would be unfair and unjust to loss the position “if I have my way would have advised for out of court settlement they should find a common ground even though the matter is at the point of judgement and I am of the opinion the statuesque should remain for the interest of the south east”.

The law maker revealed that this time around Abia is blessed with good positions in National Assembly noting that the chief Whip, the minority leader and deputy Chief Whip are all Abians and he expected more from them to harmonized and build a common front for the good and development of Ndigbo
