The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Obitex Industrial Investment Company limited, Mr. Obinna Arinze, has warned against any move to probe former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by President
Mohammadu Buhari as that may be counter productive.

Mr Obinna inserted the note of warning while reacting to the alleged move by Mr. President to probe his predecessor and family.

“In as much as I support the Federal Government war against corruption, it will not be targeted at perceived enemies as vendetta for honour must be accorded to whom it is due especially when the achievements of such perceived enemies are always there for all to see”

“Former President Jonathan’s focus on education was more in the North than in the South and the records are there that he established more tertiary institutions in the North to uplift their educational standard”

“It looks funny and laughable to hear that plans are in the pipeline to probe former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his family.

Let President Buhari start off the probe from ex-presidents that came
before Jonathan if it is an unbiased probe.”

He expressed dissatisfaction with the federal government continued
marginalization of the Igbo nation which according to him President
Jonathan is a bona-fide son of the area.

“For the elder statesman to have been singled out for probe amongst all ex- presidents, has more to it than meet the eyes”, he noted.

“I frown at the continued marginalization of eastern region within the entity called Nigeria.”

On the proscription of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, by the Federal Government, the industrialist expressed dismay adding that, “the North has her youth movement called Arewa youths and Yoruba (South West) has hers called, Odua People’s Congress, OPC, who freely operate without interference” .

“The south east and south south that are being marginalized sequel to their hereditary relationship cannot be stopped for it is divine” he noted.

“I, Mr. Arinze, hereby condemn in its totality the marginalization of the Southeast and South South youths and alleged move to probe elder statesman, former President Goodluck Jonathan and his family, by a sitting President, Mohammadu Buhari”.
