Easter ; Community Police in .Ogbaru” vigilante” strategiszes on ensuring crime-free society

Community Police known as Vigilante group in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra state, has continued to
strategize on how to ensure crime-free Easter celebration in the Area.
Perfecting on how to have zero tolerance of crime at a security meeting held in Okpoko Community hall at the invitation of the. Chairman of Okpoko Vigilante group, Mr Victor Okpala, and sponsored by the President General of the community, Hon Edwin Emesinwa, they vowed
not to leave any stone unturned in thier bid to flush out criminals in the area.
According to Mr Okpala, “all hands must be on desk if we are to flush them out completely now, during and after Easter celebration”
He recalled that he single handedly stopped highway armed robbers from blocking the Onitsha/Owerri Expressway and also sacked armed robbers and suspected kidnappers/cultists who have been terrorising Okpoko
community with the assistance of the President General, Chief Emesinwa.
He told the participants that, “the latest of our achievements is the arrest of a three-man kidnapping syndicate that kidnapped one Chikodili at No. 65 Nwokedi street Okpoko 2 and we handed them over to Okpoko Police Division”
“Before we assumed duty Okpoko was besieged by armed robbers and cultists but today we can beat our chest and say no more armed robbers in Okpoko and we call this security meeting for other areas to be like
Okpoko” he stated.
In his own speech, a special guest from the Anambra state Vigilante Group, AVS, and Supervisor, Anambra North (AVS) Akunne Moses Okafor, commended the Okpoko Vigilante group for its efforts in the war against criminals in the area and urged the outfit to maintain the
According to him security is a serious business that required
energetic persons that would work for the interest of lives and property of the residents.
He also commended the President General of Okpoko community, Hon Emesinwa and urged him not to be distracted by the antics of the opposition who would always want to pull him down.
“They want to distract you from protecting the people but the God in you is stronger than the God in them” he stated.
In his response Hon Emesinwa vowed never to be deterred by their threat and empty noise adding that Okpoko vigilante group is the best
in the state.
“It is the best security outfit in Anambra state. People of Okpoko now sleep with their two eyes closed because there is water-tight security in the area, courtesy of the synergy between the Okpoko police Division and our security outfit led by Victor Okpala”
“Those people who are saying that armed robbers have taken over security in Okpoko are the armed robbers themselves, they left APGA to operate against Governor Willie Obiano from other political parties.
We will continue to support the Governor who has more three years to deliver dividends of democracy to Okpoko residents,” Emesinwa stated.
