The General Overseer of Christian Victory Prayer Ministry Worldwide, Pastor Dan Obinegbo, has admonished Christians and people within the political class to shun greed for a better society.

Obinegbo stated this in a press conference on Sunday in Enugu tomark the 25 years (Silver-Jubilee) anniversary of Christian Victory Prayer Ministry Worldwide coming up from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16 in Enugu.

He also emphasized that greed had led many clerics to do the wrong things and God anger rekindled against them and their ministry; “since God will never share his glory with any man’’.

In his words: “God is still faithful; it is us the men of God that abuse ourselves due to greed and social influence.

“Greed most times put our status as spiritual defenders of the people in jeopardy.

“When we take away greed from the service of God and pastors not yielding to unnecessary influence and bending from influential church members; the world will indeed be a better place since God remains faithful’’.

The Cleric further stated that one of the greatest challenges of the country “is the prolonged tribal greed by politicians not truly willing to share power and positions in a multi-ethnic country’’.

Obinegbo said that as a prophet he had continued to warn Nigeria that the country was standing on an amalgamated tripod of three regions and there must be equitable and fair sharing of position. If the sharing is rotational, allow it to stand for equity.

Also he urged politicians to shun unnecessary acquisition of wealth especially from public treasury, adding that politicians should work honesty for the people and live legacy projects that they would be remembered for after office.

On the youths, the cleric said that politicians had failed to provide gainful employment for them but rather want to use them as political thugs and dumping them at the end of the day; thus, escalating joblessness and insecurity in the land.

“It is unfortunate that politicians want to see youths around them singing their praise but have no plan for the future job engagement and betterment of that young man that follows him/her all about before and during elections,’’ he said.

On the silver-jubilee celebration of the church, the cleric noted that it would be used to re-enact the ample testimonies of healing and deliverance the church was noted for within the past 25 years.

“There will be special song ministrations, dramas, healing and deliverance from satanic bondages etc; while we are expecting a lot of special guests at the grand finale on Feb. 16.

“Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, bishops, judges as well as traditional rulers, which communities had benefitted from the church’s numerous outreach programmes within and outside the state had been invited for the great occasion,’’ he noted.
