Anambra CP assures Anambra citizens of adequate security

The Anambra State Police Commissioner of Police, Mr. John Abang, has assured that the Command under him will give the State adequate security.
The Commissioner who gave the promise in Onitsha, the State commercial hub when he received an award from the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) of Onitsha Central Police Station (CPS), said hard-working people of Anambra State would be beneficiary of efficient people orientated security during his stay in the State.
He also said that his command will continue to be closer to the people in accordance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IG).
Lauding the members of the PCRC for encouraging them to do more with their awards, the Commissioner said ” with these awards you are motivating us to serve you better . We will just do that”
He said their success in providing security in Anambra State was traceable to the committment and support of the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
He then urged the people of Anambra State to continue to support the Governor to encourage him to achieve optimal performance.
He also commended the members of PCRC for the support they have been giving his officers and men, urging them to continue to do more.
The chairman of the occasion Prof. Katchy said the performance of Abang in the past when he was in the State brought him back again to Anambra State.
He said that the Commissioner has resasured the people of adequate security, they should continue to partner with the Command, saying has promised “assured and insured security”
In his speech, the chairman of PCRC of Central Police Station (CPS), Onitsha, Sir Victor Agubisi, assured the Commissioner of the cooperation of the people of the State.
He said with Abang’s vast experience, God’s wisdom and knowledge, he would take Anambra security and the State Police Command to a greater height.
“We can testify that just few weeks of assumption of office as CP, he has restructured and respositioned the Command for optimum performance, the result of which in no distant time, we shall start to reap” he said.
Agubisi pledged their unalloyed support to Abang and his men in order to rid the State of hoodlums.
Said the chairman “We also appeal to members of the public to report to the Police any questionable character living among them”.
He said this has become necessary because criminals don’t live in the moon, but reside with the people, stressing that by passing such useful information to the Police,the State would be sanitised of criminals.
