Abia Business Man Recount Difficulties In Doing Business In South East

The Chief executive, Obioma Enterprises Nigeria Limited, Chief Obioma Okorie has lamented over the hardship faced by business men in doing business in Nigeria and worst in South East.

Chief Okorie said Nigeria now is out of recession but in reality the impact is not felt as items and commodities in the market are  still very expensive.

The importer and exporter reiterated that there is no money circulating in the system, high exchange rate, poor patronage even now Christmas is approaching, high cost of goods and services and Chinese companies taking over businesses in Nigeria.

Okorie who is a foremost business guru in Abia further lamented the difficulties in doing business in South east especially in Abia state became of the deplorable state of roads.

“Majors roads in South East are bad, many hours are lost, a journey of 2 hours takes about 3 to 4 hours, our trucks are either damaged or are involved in accidents and millions of naira lost”. Okorie stated.

The dealer in building materials criticized the slow pace in which APC is running the government; he advised that the recovered loot be injected back into the economy so that money can circulate.

He called on the government at both federal and state to give tax holiday to willing business men adding that is done in developed countries, he said the tax holiday will allow a willing business man to come to an agreement with the government to embarked on a government projects or road repair or construction after which he would not pay tax for agreed number of years. He pointed that it will help to take care of dilapidated infrastructures in the country.

He appreciated Aliko Dangote his business partner for his giant strides in Nigeria; he noted that he was making frantic effort to ensure that Dangote build company in either Imo or Abia state while he regretted that Dangote factories are visible in every parts of the country non in south east.

Okorie noted that Dangote is a detribalized Nigeria who in respective of the zone you come from or doing business  sees you as equal business partner.

He noted that he would be opening his business office in Owerri before the end of the year and that Dangote is expected to come to officially commission the project.

The business guru pleaded with Abia state government to pay compensation to the Umuana Ndume Ibeku and other adjoining communities within the capital the plots of land acquired by the immediate past government to enable him to be free from harassment of the community and gained access to his land and complete his housing estate project
