Abang, Anambra CP Vows To Flush Criminals At Upper Iweka, Aba Park

The Anambra State Commissioner
of Police, Mr. John Bassey Abang, has vowed to flush out all the criminals in various nipping points in the State especially at the Upper Iweka and Aba Aba Park axis.
The Commissioner spoke in his interview with journalists at the Onitsha Area Command during his familiarisation tour of Police formations in the State.
Abang said he has already visited all the flash points in the State immediately he resumed and they have mapped out strategy to deal with hoodlums causing problems in those areas.
He said even before his assumption his predecessors have worked hard to weaken the criminal elements in those flash points, saying that he has luanched manhunt of the bad boys will continue to improve what they are already doing.
Earlier while addressing the officers and men of Onitsha Area Command and the Central Police Station (CPS), Onitsha, Abang told them he was in the State to serve them.
The Commissioner who said he was humbled by the kinds about him, assured them he would defend their interest.
He said “don’t be timid, don’t be rude, be respectful in the discharge of your duties’.
The chairman of Anambra State Vigilant Services, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, a retired Commissioner of Police, said the the Commissioner of Police is not a stranger in the State and they are lucky to have him as their Commissioner of Police given his track- record.
He said Abang served under him when he was Commissioner of Police , Mobile and he was one of the best MOPOL Commanders under him.
Stressing that Abang was an epitome of professionalism, a detribalised officer, he assured him of the cooperation of Anambra State Vigilant Services.
“We assure you of our support. There is a synergy here. Grassroot policing is what makes Anambra State thick. Police cannot be everywhere. We will give you cooperation” said Aduba.
