2019: Group drums support for Buhari re-election, Akinlade election as Ogun State Governor
A coalition group, Triple A Youths and Students Campaign Organisation (TRAYSCO), has drummed support for the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Ogun State, Chief Adekunle Akinlade.
“TRAYSCO, which is coalition of 34 youths and students groups, is also working seriously for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari to continue his good works,’’ the Director-General of TRAYSCO, Mr Clement Olusegun, said in a statement on Sunday in Enugu.
Olusegun, who said that TRAYSCO had over 50,000 PVC carrying members in Ogun State alone, said that the group had carefully studied political activities as it unfolds and cannot allow entities addicted to misrule to take over government considering level of ongoing developments in the state.
According to him, hence the need for us as leaders of tomorrow and partners in progress for a better today to make our position known to all.
“The need to sustain the mission to rebuild Ogun State in the areas of people’s welfare, education, healthcare and social services which we have no doubt that it would be enhanced by Akinlade in Ogun State and Buhari at the Federal level
“As a youthful candidate in his 40ths; Akinlade’s government will revive tertiary institutions and grassroots sports as massive investment will be made to sports sector so as to produce more Segun Odegbami, Anthony Joshua and other proud sons and daughters of Ogun who have made the state proud before the world.
“Akinlade has promised to engage Ogun youths in terms of providing jobs and empowerment especially through the large numbers of companies coming into the state as an investment destination of choice in the country.
“As a visionary leader and IGR expert; Akinlade has promised not to relent in the salaries of Ogun workers, pensions and gratuities for he knows the value of our workers and pensioners.
“Ogun State has under the administration of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun (the incumbent governor) become the destination of choice and the industrial hub of Nigeria. The records have confirmed that Ogun state is playing host to over 180 companies which have invested between $200 million and $2 billion.
“Akinlade has also promised to put in place special package for special people in the state as government shall be engaging them in the areas of skill acquisition and empowerment. This move will reduce the number of people with disabilities begging for alms across the state,’’ he said.
Olusegun said that Akinlade had promised to sustain the level of security in the state by continuously partnering with all security agents to further get rid of criminal elements in our state as exhibited by Gov. Amosun.
“Sustaining this security will support President Buhari fight against insurgents and insecurity and ioncrease bothy foreign and local investment in Ogun State and Nigeria in general’’ he said.
Olusegun, however, called on all Ogun youths and students to remain peaceful and united even as “we massively vote President Buhari and Adekunle Akinlade as Ogun State Governor come 2019 General Election’’.
“We are appealing to all Ogun youths and students both at home and in Diaspora to support the movement to victory,’’ he added.
